Diocesan Requirements for Ordination to the Diaconate
The Episcopal School for Deacons primarily serves the Dioceses of California, El Camino Real, and Northern California, but has served students from other dioceses during its long history.
The Canons of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America specify requirements for ordination to the diaconate. However, some flexibility is allowed and each diocese has its own specific ordination process. New canons were passed at General Convention in August 2003. The changes may not yet be incorporated into your diocesan process.
