This year-long course teaches the student the exegetical, organizational, mechanical, compositional, and vocal skills needed to prepare and deliver effective sermons. The major emphasis in both semesters is the practice of preparing and delivering homilies and sermons in a safe community of learning and constructive feedback. A “diaconal hermeneutic” is learned and practices particularly in the second semester.
